Can I just say that I love my fella?
We went out to dinner the night of my emotional wallop,
and my fortune cookie fortune didn’t feel very apt.
I folded it and put it in my pocket.
But then a couple days later I noticed this tucked into our bathroom mirror:
And now I’m thinking I have the best fortune;
I have Zippy by my side.
Awww… love and support make all the difference, don’t they?
Hope you are feeling better now. It’s such a hard business, and it makes me sad when it disappoints wonderful people.

Love and support are huge in all this. I’m very grateful for my guy and that little slip of good fortune. As for feeling better, I’m still some up and down, but made lots of progress today, and that makes me feel very good.
Thank you for the kind words, Lisa.

Oh Tracy, I’m so sorry I wasn’t there for you when you needed support. You are a powerfully strong woman (I’m remembering a certain runner zipping by me and out of sight) and I have full confidence that you will prevail. And Zippy is a sweetheart.

You are so kind, Lorraine. I know I can always count on your calming presence, whether you’re right there or not. I’m glad you reminded me of running on the beach last summer since I’ve lost that ability for the time-being; it’s nice to remember I’m capable of that and that I will be able to do it again.
Here’s a hug for you. And I’m sure Zippy would send one, also…

Similar fortune(?)
I met my wife on a blind date.
Six months later, we ere at a
Chinese restaurant with her
parents. I got a fortune cookie
that said, “You will marry your
present lover and be happy.” I
should it to my wife. We both
laughed in embarrassment, and
didn’t reveal the fortune to
her parents. A month before
our wedding, I got the same
fortune again, “You will marry
your present lover and be happy.”
We’ve been married 6,219 days
(i.e. 17 years and 10 days) and
it’s been wonderful.

This is so beautiful. Barb shared some of this story before but I especially love the exact counting of days. Talk about sweet. Congratulations to both of you.

You and Zippy are two peas in a pod. Although, I’m going to rat him out and tell you that he didn’t give me the right name of one of The Ramones for my crossword. And I’d written his answer in ink!
What is The Ramone whose name begins with D?

Dee-dee!

Yep. He said Donnie, and even though he’s the resident Ramone-head, I thought “That doesn’t sound right. But what do I know?” We both realized in the same moment it was Dee-Dee.
I should’ve called you first.

I don’t have any plans to remove it, let me tell you. I went in there to look at it several times today when I was feeling those ugly doubts and hearing that nasty voice.
Thanks for your support, Jeannine.
