Happy Solstice!

I’ve been looking forward to this day for quite some time.
We’re going to start gaining daylight again!
And what better way to celebrate than with a House Finch Party?!

  1. A house part–great idea! My finches would enjoy mingling with yours, don’t you think? Poor things: they’re soggy, and so’s their seed. I’d try to snap a backyard picture, but they fly away whenever I open the door.

Happy Solstice Day, my all-weather friend.

  2. M thinks like you do, that the days start getting longer now.

I think the best way to get through winter pre-spring is to be like Scott Westerfeld and Justine Larbalestier, successful authors with homes in New York and Sydney–and avoid pre-spring altogether!

    • The red chests are beautiful, aren’t they? That’s so wonderful you have hummingbirds visit your balcony. I have some in my garden in the summer but they’re not regular visitors.
