Allow me to explain.
It’s February and I’m longing for spring when flowers bloom.
So I went to last year’s photos and found this clematis:
“Perfect,” I thought. “I’ll post it as Thankful Thursday: The Looking Forward Edition.”
But then I wanted to also include a quotation about the future,
so I searched for something eloquent to match my lovely flower.
And I came up with this:
“The future will be better tomorrow.” ~ Dan Quayle
A keeper, for sure, because not only am I longing for spring, I’m in desperate need of
laughter. But I won’t say anything more about that because as a wise man once said:
“Verbosity leads to unclear, inarticulate things.” ~ Dan Quayle
LOL. Nice flower, btw.

Ah, tulips! Although, I’ve seen quite a few deer in the neighborhood and I know how much they like eating tulip bulbs. But whatever pokes up from the brown ground will be fine by me.
I’ve been meaning to tell you that I (finally!) bought my copy of Antique Piano, and have had such fun picking it up to read a poem or two at a time. I’m particularly fond of Etiquette for Astronauts. 🙂 I recognize your wit and perspective and musical tastes throughout, and reading your book is like hanging out with the Barb I’ve became friends with online. Congratulations!
