  1. I’ve never tried a Neti pot. I imagine I would hurt my neck trying to crane my neck to use it. I mostly just use cold medicine, but sometimes I use saline sprays. My son brought home the common cold last week. It sucks, but at least its not Covid-19! They just approved the vaccine for 11-5yo. We can’t wait to get him vaccinated! He’s 11. Last year the vaccine came out right around his birthday and he said for his birthday he wanted us to get the vaccine so we wouldn’t die, and that was pretty flippin’ heartbreaking to hear your kid say! I’m so done with living through all these “historical events” already but I know the coming decades won’t be much better. We do our best to raise him with resilience and love.

    • Oh, Melanie. That is heartbreaking and I feel so, so, bad for the young people. I’m with you on being done with all this and also on what’s to come. My 27-yr-old son believes he’s making things better/easier for me by saying “you’ll be dead before stuff gets really bad.” Honey, that doesn’t help at all. YES to resilience and love….

      • You’ll have to remind your son that women live longer. 😉 We know how to survive by allowing ourselves a five minute pity party and then carrying on with the work that needs to be done. The one thing I’ll never do is give up hope. We’re not dead yet, we have opportunities to give future generations tools for the future.

        • I don’t think it’s a matter of my longevity, it’s a matter of him trying to soothe my anxiety when, really, it’s the young people and those in frontline communities I’m most anxious about. The millennials have witnessed and are currently and into the future dealing with so much awful stuff.
