This is a view from my patio, taken in June. My garden doesn’t look like this now – mums and asters are blooming today – but I wanted to document that early summer day because it holds only good memories for me. Mate and I spent afternoon on patio, talking and laughing. Watching butterflies flit from flower to flower, listening to bees buzzing and the snake slithering through the dry leaves alongside the patio. We relaxed into the little piece of beauty we’d created in our own backyard. It was a truly wonderful day.
Ooo, lovely!
And I see you’ve mastered the posting of pics–that was quick!

Shout-Out to Dot!
Thanks for your guidance on this! I still haven’t figured out how to take a photo, save it on the computer, upload it, and put it in the journal, though. One step at a time…….

Oh, I want to sip lemonade or iced tea with you in this back yard. It’s a sanctuary, for sure.

I’d love to share my sanctuary with you! The patio is my favorite room of the house which makes me sad to think about winter coming. At least Colorado winters have plenty of sunshine to keep us going until the flowers bloom again.

When I lived in a colder climate (the Pacific Northwest), I used to dread the onslaught of winter. About this time of year, I’d walk around with a knot in my stomach, just thinking about losing sunshine, flowers, FREEDOM. I love being back in SoCal. 🙂

I know what that’s about! I lived in Anchorage for six years and used to run outside when I heard the geese flying overhead, crying to them to please stay. Those were serious winters! I love SoCal weather, too. Lived there for six years in the craziness of LA.

Thank you. Your garden gonme is welcome any time! I made some changes a couple weeks ago so I’ll have a different look next summer. Gives me something to look forward to over the winter.
