Waste-Not Wednesday: Cereal Box Liners

I’ve already posted a suggestion for using waxed paper bags for lunches rather than plastic bags.  But there’s an even greener alternative:  cereal box liners!

(Photobucket isn’t cooperating tonight so I apologize for the mammoth image and ask your forgiveness for any dreams in which you are chased by an enormous sandwich.  Or countertop)..

    • I have nightmares about the sandwiches my brother used to pack for us girls — gov’t cheese, smothered in ketchup, between two slices of green-tinged bread. Blech. I could have overlooked even the moldy stuff, if he hadn’t wrapped them in waxed paper and sealed ’em with masking tape. Horrifying, when everyone else was carrying Huckleberry Hound lunchboxes. Ah, the pain we endure in our youth… πŸ™‚
For the record, I think the cereal wrapping’s a great idea. Maybe the Cheerio crumbs would add flavor and texture to the sandwich.
