This little beetle has been roaming my bathroom for the past few days. Caught him here on the rim of the bucket we use for catching water as it warms up. Anyone know what kind of beetle it is? Whatever the name, it’s a beauty.

No. The coloring is very similar but my guy has a Y on his back. Those were very cool photos, though. Thank you for linking to them. I looked at a bunch trying to find an ID, and was amazed by the sheer number of beautiful beetles roaming the planet.

How big was it?

He’s tiny, about a half inch. I don’t think you’d move out if you saw him. His markings are so gorgeous they’d win you over. 🙂

He’s a real live beetle. In fact, my cat jumped off the bed where I was reading last night and got down on the floor to stare at something. Sure enough, it was my beetle friend. I rescued him from my cat so now he’s roaming elsewhere in the house.

Looks like a potato beetle of some sort. We have a lot of junebugs in the backyard right now…their wings are filled with rainbows.

Maybe it is a type of potato beetle; the coloring is similar. I love junebugs and know what you mean about the rainbows. Amazing.
