My new best friends

It’s been Robin-Mania around here the past week or so but none of my pics turned out so I borrowed this one from Photobucket. 
Robins are such fun and they make me smile.  Every time.

  1. My husband has started to get into bird watching lately so we’ve been going out for walks around the neighbourhood, trying to spot various kinds. Birds are so beautiful, I can’t believe I never really thought to take notice before!

    • Birds are the best! I’m having more fun this spring than ever before as they gather in the plum trees by my fence. Robins and one blue jay that’s always alone plus a handful of house finches. I’m in heaven.
      I think once we start noticing birds, we see more and more of them. That’s how it feels with me, anyway. Be sure to let me know if you have any especially cool sightings!

  3. I love to see them, too. They always remind me of one of my favorite Little Bear stories–Mother Bear’s Robin.

    • I don’t remember that story but it’s very cool that robins give you such a memory. The strange thing is, my oldest sister recently reminded me that when I was little I’d chase robins off our lawn. It was clearly an attention-getting thing but it seems a bit sad. Good news is my robin-karma seems to be intact because they’re always around these days.

  5. Birds are so amazing. While sitting in traffic with my son today, we noticed a bevy of red-winged blackbirds in a little pond area by the side of the road. Their song always reminds me of hiking and summertime.

    • I LOVE red-winged blackbirds and I can hear their song right now. They remind me of walking to the bus on our half-mile long driveway where we’d pass them on the cattails in the marsh. Such a nice memory. Glad you and your son got to see and hear them.
