I’m reading this right now
to help me figure out character motivation
and resolve a plot issue.
It turns out catchers are an interesting breed
and I’m enjoying the book
which makes me wonder
if I’ve moved beyond Research
into Procrastination.

Oh yeah. Catchers and hockey goalies. Both nuts. Did you know I have a collection of Carlton Fisk baseball cards?

I can’t remember, is Tornado Boy a goalie? They do definitely seem to be in the same category with catchers although catchers are in on Every Single Play (which just boggles my mind).

Well, catchers are also known to be smart. Did you ever watch Bull Durham? Goalies are just plain crazy, with strange pregame rituals and antisocial behavior.
T-boy is not a goalie. Waaaay too stressful for him.

Catchers are really smart, it seems. And funny you should mention Bull Durham (which I saw and liked very much), Zippy offered some plot ideas that would mirror BD but I told him I wasn’t going there. It’s children’s lit, for goodness sake!
Glad Tornado Boy didn’t pursue goalie. It sounds pretty intense.
