One: a longtime friend, Vinca…..
Two, Three, Four: newly planted garden friends, Columbine and Clematis…..

And Five: my most tenacious "friend," Dandelion….
Wishing everyone a bloomin’ weekend!

The vinca is especially pretty. I’m well acquainted with #5! Thanks for the photos.

If only the vinca could drive away the dandelions. At least to their own little corner of the yard. I don’t like being anti-plant but those little buggers are almost as invasive as humans!

Nice pictures! My vinca is almost as stalwart as the dandelions, so appreciated for that. An the rampant lily of the valley. I replanted just a bit on the edges of the lawn and it makes me happy growing like crazy.
Also, dug a small columbine when a nearby road was getting paved a few years ago. Now it’s kind of taking over. But the hummingbirds are happy, so I’m happy.

Your columbine is taking over? This is my first try with them (wait, I tried planting seeds last spring but they never took) so I’m looking forward to butterflies and hummingbirds.
Glad your vinca is robust!

Around here vinca is a weed to get rid of fast! π

Why is vinca a weed in California? It doesn’t seem particularly invasive here. Believe me, everything invasive has invaded my yard; I have many, many, many species of weeds. Many!

Given ideal growing conditions, it will eventually take over the world. I think CA is pretty ideal for it.

You laugh. I’ve shoved so much food in my pie hole today I could easily cover the planet in another day or two.

Gorgeous, Tracy!
It’s hard to be mad at dandelions, when they are so cheerful and bright.

You’re so right about the dandelions. They were introduced here as an ornament for a reason. They’re downright perky!
