When a project first goes out into the world,
it’s easy for me to focus on other work.
I’m still satisfied with the outgoing project’s polish,
and proud of the accomplishment.
I don’t need to think about that project anymore.
Up to a point, that is.
My project has not yet yielded the desired results
which means The Doubts have descended upon me.
Pitched a tent in my head
and settled in to whisper crazy, non-helpful stuff.
Non-stop.
For the sake of my sanity, I needed to shift that energy.
Today I made a slight change in that project’s format.
It only took about an hour and just like that,
I feel so much better.
More confident.
Less like a campground for negative, whispered voices.
Once again I’m proud to have created that book.
Which means it’s time for me to get back to my other work.
Lions and tigers and bears, oh my!
Now see, this is why I dare not go rummaging through the wilds of Publishing just yet. For now, I prefer the safety of my own garden, where I’m surrounded by cultivated flowers and hummingbirds and the fruits of my imagination.
I will muster the courage…someday, and sooner than later. When the time is right, I’ll be ready.
*hugs*
It’s all part of the journey, right?

You’re one of the most courageous people I know, so when the time’s right, you’ll be out there. Until then, enjoy that garden and those hummingbirds. I’m smelling the roses today, too!

Thanks for this link. I’ve read and enjoyed her books, and am happy to see she’s joined the hooping tribe. I haven’t hooped in weeks and am thinking I should head outside to get in the spin!

Tweaking and sanity are good.
Sounds like the blue raincoat gang has had a most productive month. I think you’ve got to make that retreat an annual one.

It was a good retreat but almost scary how quickly some of that calm and assurance escaped me. I’ve got a foundation, though. And my blue raincoat. 🙂
