Gazillions of lady bugs!
Atop the little mountain we all climbed while in Westcliffe.
I’ve never seen such a thing.
Very cool, methinks.

A gazillion harbingers of good fortune, that’s what they are! Methinks it’s a sign of great things headed your way… 🙂

They were everywhere, it seemed. Truly amazing. And I was so grateful for my camera because my old one would not have done it justice.

It was definitely awesome. I kept wanting to “grab” a handful and take them home to my garden to eat the aphids.

Oh, look at that! I’m off to get D. to come look at them…I know he’ll think it’s very cool too (even though in his 14 yo way, he won’t admit it–ha!)

So did D think they were cool? Zebu was the one who hurried over to show me as soon as I reached the top. He knew I’d think all those lady bugs were amazing. He was a bit more reserved with his awe, though.

Cool! If it was any other kind of bug it’d look gross but I like ladybugs 🙂 Sometimes a swarm like that attaches itself to the side of my apartment building. There are seasons when we’ve had so many find their way inside here that I’ve had to vacuum them up!

Yeah, I definitely wouldn’t post a photo of cockroaches swarming. YUCK. I’m sad you have to vacuum them up since they’re such beneficial insects. Put them in a box and mail them to me, okay? 🙂

Well, I guess it’s true that you can have too much of a good thing!
Before we started using more environmentally friendly lightbulbs there was this one specific lamp they used to dive into kamikaze style and fry themselves. We’d have to remove scores of ladybug bodies from the lamp.
