I’m always grateful for this kind and generous community.
Today, however, I am exceedingly grateful.
And I offer this dapper little Western Scrub-Jay as a token of my gratitude.

I hope you’re feeling free as a bird today, as is your birthright.

These jays are especially fun because they do this little squatting/bouncing thing when they sing. I could watch them for hours.

I’m glad you like him, Jo. Especially since I seem to remember you’re not a bird fan. Maybe that was only crows or ravens. Or maybe I’m totally confused…

LOL. You are right! I enjoy birds through a window, to be sure.

Well, you are the queen of kind and generous. So there.
Haven’t seen any jays lately. On yesterday’s walk I saw a beautiful falcon, though.

The queen? Hee, that’s a good one.
I’d love to see a falcon! Was it flying or perching? A kestrel landed on the pole when I was in back yesterday and I tiptoed away to grab my camera but it had left by the time I returned. Drat!

I always love your bird posts! I remember the first time I noticed you on Verla’s. You had such a quiet, kind, encouraging, wise way about you that I thought maybe you were an old lady. 🙂 I actually tried to find out your real name and how old you were. When I went to LJ, I found out you were Tracy and not an old lady at all, but just a quiet, kind, encouraging, wise woman. 🙂 I’m glad to know you.

I did!
Although the Carolina wren isn’t exactly colorful, it has a lovely song, and I was able to watch one on a branch outside the kitchen window singing his heart out.
