The LiveJournal Band

Sometimes I wish I was in a band
so I’d have someone right there with me,
sharing the sweat and inspiration.

                                                                                                                                               image from morguefile.com

The ups and downs.
Complete with power chords and jarring chords,
and finally, that elusive record deal.

But I guess this community comes pretty close.

So, who’s got tambourine?

  1. Can I have the cowbell, Tracy? I have no formal cowbell experience but I think I have it in me to attain cowbell greatness. What’s your instrument of choice?

  2. I kick but on drums in Rock Band (Sure it’s on easy/beginner). And I play a wicked air guitar. If you want real instruments…um…I can play Hot Crossed Buns on the recorder. šŸ˜€

    • Ooh, marimba. (And I got even more excited once I looked it up and saw what it was!) Don’t let your inexperience worry you, you’ll fit right in.

      Welcome to the band, Jeannine!

    • Keyboards! That’s what we’ve needed. And Heart and Soul is one of my very favorite songs ever. I’m thinking we’ll play it for an encore, along with Hot Crossed Buns. (It’s the birth of a set list!)

Welcome to the band, Mighty Dotificus!

    • Thank you for volunteering to sing. I also sing off-key and very loudly, and will be happy to join in. In fact, I’m sure we can all sing together. (Although I just remembered Melodye’s been in training so maybe I’ll stick to back-up-back-up.)

      Welcome to the band, Jenny!

  3. Tuba. That’ll be mine, thank you very much.

I played it in high school. Carrying it made a big bruise on my left shoulder and blowing it made a red ring around my mouth. Not a good look for a girl who wanted a boyfriend. But, dang. I love a good low note.

    • Tuba! I wondered when we’d get a tuba player to sign up. I played cornet in band but don’t feel the need to continue that experience. All that puckering.

I love me a good low note, too, so welcome to the band, Jennifer!

  4. I know cellos are usually not thought of as band instruments, plus I’m not even sure I could play one anymore, but as long as we’re dreaming, can I play the cello? You could call me YoYo Mama. Groan.
