Today marks three years of genocide. It also marks three years of increased resistance to Israel as an apartheid state and occupier of Gaza. All around the world, people are united in opposition to Israel’s depravities that are live-streamed for all to see. In solidarity with Palestine, independent publisher Pluto Press has compiled a reading list of books published before and after October 7, 2023.

That list includes A Moon Will Rise from the Darkness: Reports on Israel’s Genocide in Palestine** by Francesca Albanese.

Albanese is the UN special rapporteur and has been ferocious in her documentation of Israel’s atrocities while pointing out who profits from the oppression of Palestinians. She’s donating all royalties from the book to UNRWA (The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees).

You may purchase a copy of A Moon Will Rise from the Darkness or you may download a free copy with the hope you make a donation to UNRWA.

Free Palestine!

** The title is a variation on a line from a poem by the Palestinian national poet Mahmoud Darwish, a metaphor for hope and strength even in the darkest of times. The cover features a painting ‘Children of Gaza Dreaming of Peace’ from Malak Mattar, a Palestinian artist from Gaza.
