Snow Day!

I haven’t been around much lately, mostly because this is a hard time of year for me and I don’t want to be the resident Weinie Whiner. Today I woke to blowing snow, predictions of 1-2 feet of the white stuff in the next 24 hours, and school closure announcements. I remember lots of snow days from my Wisconsin childhood but this is only the second for my kids. This is a big deal!

So my boys are downstairs now, playing some game that apparently calls for frequent bellowing, and I’m thinking that although I would not have guessed it, this snow day is going to be the best cure for my blues.

  1. Well, I’m sure that position is already taken — although the more the merrier. I’m sorry this is one of those times…but snow?! We haven’t seen one whiff of it here in NY.
I hope you’re out there sledding with your boys. 🙂

    • Are you thinking something along the lines of Whine R Us?! Sorry no snow for you but we’re getting everyone’s share today. And no, I’m not sledding because it’s cold and windy and my skin takes days to recover from that. The boys are well-bundled and out there, though. I can watch from the window.

    • Thanks, Linda. Mate just got home and made it all the way up the street to our driveway where he got stuck. He only drove from Park N Ride parking lot at the bottom of the hill. The bus he caught home got stuck twice and slid into a parked car. We’re all inside now, though!

  2. BAH! I scoff at your paltry whine! The Mighty Dotificus RULES the Whining World!
But I’m sorry this is a hard time of year for you. I was just wondering what you’ve been up to, lately.

    • Paltry whine, huh?! Guess I should quit holding back so you can see what I’m made of.
I’ll be better after the solstice; the light gain always helps. Doing fine, trying to revise and having off and on success with that. Ain’t that always the way?!

  3. Tracy, glad to hear everyone’s tucked safely away inside now. I don’t believe you about Pardeeville though. Sounds like something from Wayne’s World!

  4. Tracy, I’m so jealous!
It was hot here today! In 7th period we ended up opening the window!
It doesn’t feel like winter at all!
:crosses fingers for another snowday tomorrow:
I hope that everything is better when the holidays pass. I look forward to seeing you daily again. 😉
    Hope today was great,

  5. How fun! Just so you know, we are all “Weinie Whiners” sometimes. It’s just the way life goes occasionally and it is alright so vent if you need it! I hope you have a nice holiday season and that your blues get blown away from the west in a blast of beautiful, white snow!
