John McCain will be the Republican presidential nominee. He likes to pretend he’s a moderate, a maverick, someone who gives us the straight talk on all the difficult issues. As we look ahead to what’s coming in the next nine months, here’s one jaw-dropping example of what John McCain is really all about (from an April 2007 stop on his “Straight Talk” tour):

Wow. What a little, little man.
Do you think it’s possible that the video is dubbed? Like, maybe someone filled in words for him? His song is pretty outrageous.
He’s a little man, regardless.

Unfortunately, no. He doesn’t deny singing that and feels those who criticized him for it need to “get a life.” See http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/18201844/
I cannot believe he’s considered a legitimate choice. What have we become?!

I agree, he shouldn’t even be considered.
He backs up his song with the statement, “Get a life”?? Obviously lives don’t mean much to him. Good grief. He’s not only little, he’s sick.
He is a man of an un-well mind.

And we’ve already seen what happens when an un-well mind is let loose in the White House.

I don’t believe he is better than Bush. McCain has embraced Bush and his policies. And just as McCain thinks it’s funny and acceptable to joke about dropping bombs on people in another country, Bush thought it was funny and acceptable to ridicule Karla Faye Tucker’s pleas for a stay of execution before he had her executed when he was governor of Texas.
McCain scares me as much as Bush.

really? i don’t follow him or his politics at all except to know he’s offended a bunch of republicans and they won’t vote for him…so i figured, more votes for us. we’ll see though.

I have a strong feeling that the chant from the GOP (“McCain is too liberal/moderate”) is an orchestrated effort to bring in votes from people who will end up thinking “well, he must not be too bad if the GOP establishment hates him.”
The GOP is WAY too lock-step to allow a real fissure in the party.

This is why I am so stressed this year.
I can’t believe he ever got a single vote when he is such a hawk and has threatened or mentioned wanting to attack other countries. (He HAS mentioned others, by the way.)
Why do people vote for him, or…will I’ll not mention names, but I’ve been shocked.
Question. To me there seemed to be an enormous amount of propaganda on tv when I was in the states last summer. Why? And why doesn’t any one notice the propaganda? What is happening to the US?
Or is it like the frog in the pot of cold water and no can see what is happening?

I hear you, Sarah. It’s a mystery although the media play a HUGE role in all this. In fact, I’m going to post a little video you might find interesting.
As for the propaganda, I absolutely agree. I have a friend who had to leave her country (Afghanistan) and move to a communist country where propaganda played on the television and radio all the time. She said the difference was that everyone there knew they were being fed propaganda whereas in the U.S., people don’t have a clue. Many people are aware but many don’t see what’s happening and consider Fox a legitimate news source.

Propaganda is worse here where I live.
The manipulation, the lies, the twists of information.
And most people don’t have a clue that a few wealthy people are the ones who really run this place.
I’ll send you some info–if you’re interested.
The price is too high for what their goal is.
