We’re a video-game free household and Wildebeest is always off at friends’ houses playing those games. Watching movies on enormous screens. And eating junk food.
This morning we went out and bought a ping-pong table. It’s set up in the basement where Wildebeest and three of his friends (plus Zebu) are now playing ping pong.
I just took a bunch of food downstairs.
I’m hoping they’ll be here a while.
video games suck. santa should be shot for bringing two of the hand held versions to my house last year. and i can guarantee you that he won’t be bringing the one named after a personal pronoun to this house this winter either.

I know exactly what you mean. Once that Pandora’s box is opened, it feels as if everything changes. It’s very difficult being a lone voice in the wilderness on these issues.
The good news is the guys played ping pong all afternoon and then our family just held a round robin tournament. “Mom” just rose in the estimation since I did pretty well. Didn’t win but I kicked some butt. π

You are a savvy (and caring) mom, that’s for sure. I’m glad that my sons didn’t spend all their growing-up years plugged in to electronic devices.

Thanks for the vote of confidence, Melodye. Maybe you can whisper that in my ear every morning. π
I envy you not having to deal with the electronic issues with your sons. It makes me crazy. But they played ping pong all afternoon and then we had a family tournament. It’s pretty good exercise!

Niiiice! We used to play ping pong when I was in college (and we did for our rehearsal dinner too, hehe).

That’s so funny you played it at your rehearsal dinner! I don’t know if that would be a good idea around these parts since we’re all competitive. Might’ve stirred up some bad blood. π

My mom used to keep our ping pong table upstairs (on top of the small, regular table). So we cleared the dishes away and played Round Robin. We laughed so hard we couldn’t finish the game π

We had a round robin tourney last night. Zebu is our family champ which is kinda cool since he’s the youngest.
That’s great how you guys cleared the dishes and played. Ours was in our cold, somewhat scary basement.

So far, so good. I’d forgotten how physical it is and was tired out after all my games last night.
