I haven’t logged on here in weeks and was not at all surprised just now to see that the deranged Zionist from Tel Aviv landed in my spam folder with what a quick glance told me were two separate rants about the elections in Israel and the U.S. HAHAHA Guess it’s hard times on the planet for the racist hate-machines. 🙂 Dude, go watch some clouds or take up knitting or something.
Still counting ballots in my rural county so don’t want to crow too quickly on one election item, but will share that victory here when the final vote-count stake has been driven through the heart of one particularly nasty candidate.
I’ve started running again after a looong bout of plantar fasciitis in my right heel. Oof, I haven’t had such a poor level of cardio in over 20 years. The good news is I’m already improving and this week was able to take in my surroundings (rather than focusing solely on not-barfing-up-a-lung), and had three Belted Kingfisher sightings as I ran along the water. I believe it was two birds, one of which I saw twice. Either way, each sighting put more pep in my step.
I had my first massage since the start of the pandemic. It was definitely a KnotsRUs kinda situation. Yikes. I’m now scheduled for one massage per month for the near future. I’ve also started seeing an acupuncturist who is helping me with some lingering Covid-related issues from my infection in May. I don’t like needles for blood draws, etc., but enjoy the aftermath of getting stuck with a bunch of tiny needles and then lying in a dark room. Today I fell asleep and startled awake when the practitioner returned.
Zippy’s knee replacement rehab is proceeding well. There’s still a lot of pain but he’s doing the exercises and has started rejoining Emma and me on our neighborhood walks.
Loki, our elderly cat is still with us. While he’s lost a bunch of weight and feels like a whisper when held, he’s started eating more and purrs with a vengeance. He loves being held and rubbing his head against mine, and I’m trying to soak up as much love as possible.
Many good election-related outcomes this week around the country! However, it’s deeply troubling anti-trans legislation passed in states that are supposedly more enlightened about human rights. For instance, voters in both Washington and Colorado supported hateful and harmful legislation.
I appreciate all the candidates whose support never wavered, candidates such as Peggy Flanagan (new Senator from Minnesota!) and Abdul El-Sayed (new Senator from Michigan!), who proved that treating all people with kindness and respect is a winning strategy.
One more time for those in back:
Trans rights are human rights.
