  1. Hey Tracy, I was just thinking about you and wondering how you’re doing. I think I need another retreat now. Chapter 12 is not flowing. Translation: I need you two to kick my butt. Ahem.
And I adored Plainsong. Beautiful writing, so full of detail and rhythm.

    • Okay, close your eyes and visualize that big window. And the waves crashing up on the shore. Think back to you and laptop, the words you got down while there. Remember your resolve to finish this draft.
And imagine Laurie and me standing nearby, right now, cheering you on as you push through the hard parts. It doesn’t have to be pretty or perfect. All today’s words have to accomplish is moving you ahead in the chapter. Word by word.
      Go, Lorraine, go!!

      • I’m pasting this on my laptop…with some Dove chocolates and a picture of you and Laurie to keep me on track. Then I’ll be all set!
        Thanks, Tracy.
How’re things with you? You’re too darn far away.

      • I like the idea of you recreating the scene. Especially since it involves Dove chocolate. 🙂
I’m hanging in. I do feel far away although I just had a jolt of Oregon coast memory when I lent Wildebeest my running shoes I wore there. (He’s trying to impress a girl so went out on a spontaneous evening run just now). I think there’s still sand in the toes of the shoes, though. My hidden stash.
