Their plumage is so striking. A couple years ago we had some nesting on the telephone pole but I think the flickers have claimed it this year so we probably see them so often.

I really do feel so fortunate to have them come here. They’re so beautiful. I wonder what Cassie would do if they landed on her fence.

Cassie’s really good with the birds. Once the doves take flight, she wanders over to sniff where they’ve been. The rats and the opossums really get her dander up though.

I’m glad you like it, Sarah. I just recently figured out that I can take pictures of birds on the wires as long as I mess with the exposure. All this time I thought I couldn’t get any good shots because of the lighting issue.
