Zebu really likes this photo so I added the summer color for him.
1) I’m trying not to panic at the thought that we’re now careening, full-tilt
toward the end of the year
2) Because there are still so many things I want and need to accomplish
before then
3) But there’s nothing I can do about the steady march of time
4) So the best I can do is get a grip already
5) And push on through to meet my goals (with a minimum of whimpering).
Happy October to all, and have a wonderful weekend!
You can do it. And if you don’t make those goals on time, relax. It’s not the end of the world if you go over. And you’ll probably be more productive if you don’t get into a panic. At least that’s what I’m telling myself.

You’re correct: panic never helps me much in meeting goals. I’m trying to sustain the energy without the mania. HA!

I say forget those dumb goals if they make you feel bad. Goals should inspire, not make you feel squashed.

It’s not so much writing goals as it is writing goals PLUS domestic stuff (for instance, I’ve torn up my front yard to the point of no return and now have to get the rest dug up before the pro landscapers arrive. Oh yeah, and then there’s the matter of my kitchen with all the test patches and vertical stripes on the cabinets).
But I will NOT be squashed!

Personally, I am happy that 2010 is almost over. I get you freaking about not accomplishing things on your list yet. I don’t know that I accomplished a single thing on my 2010 List.
But October means perfect temperatures and kids in costumes and eating candy and ghost stories…

You’ve got the right attitude. New year, clean start. Cooler temps and kids in costumes.
Thank you.

I hear you! Good luck with getting some things done. Just keep swimming, just keep swimming.

I’ll start swimming or I’ll sink like a stone (for the times they are a-changin’) 🙂
Thanks for the encouragement, Kathy!

Happy October, Tracy! I’m with you on the needing to get a grip (being more zen) thing. It’s a tricky balance between wanting to accomplish things and not angsting about them too much. But here’s to a great month!

Wishing you an awesome October, also, Carolyn. May we both establish that zen-like grip!
