How many Whiteheads can there be?

Zebu is home with the flu and is listening to the audio version of HARRIET THE SPY.  I loved this book as a child and read it over and over.  However, Zebu just asked a question I don’t think I ever pondered:

What relation, if any, is there between Harriet’s classmate, Pinky Whitehead, and their teacher, Miss Whitehead?

Do you know?

    • It is cool, indeed. Just now as he stopped listening for the day he said he remembered details from when I read it to he and his brother years ago.
      Thanks for the get-well thoughts!

    • I carried around a notebook, too. I’m afraid I didn’t absorb some of the other major themes in the book because I was so enthralled with the idea of observing and taking notes.

  1. Aw sorry to hear that Zebu is sick, but then again staying home to listen to stories has its charm! Hope he feels better soon.
And I’m afraid to say that Harriet the Spy was not one of my favorite books so I can’t even remember who Pinky Whitehead was. :-O

    • Thanks for the good wishes, Lorraine. He’ll be home tomorrow, too. This stuff is NASTY. Zippy came home at noon and went right back to bed.
You don’t remember Pinky Whitehead?! 🙂
