Fueled by Guts

I’m working on the intimidating middle section of my book. 
Feeling overwhelmed.  Full of despair.

Gave myself a pep talk and told myself I could do it.
Gave myself permission to write crap.

Wrote.
Quite possibly crap. 

Nonetheless, relieved to write for two days in a row.
Celebrating the baby steps.

Gotta keep digging deep and gutting it out.
Ugh.

    Dig… ugh
    Dig.. ugh. That was me for the last two weeks. But the shovel feels lighter now and things are starting to look prettier. Hang in there. You’ll find some gold. Or at least something shiny.

    • Well, I’m still using furniture to pull myself up and then have to hold on. Oh yeah, and I keep urping up all over myself. Metaphorically speaking, that is.
      You’re the one who spurred me on to get writing, Laura. You’ve been working hard and it inspired me. Thanks!

  2. Middles are so tough! I usually end up doing something completely crazy in my middles (either that or skipping them entirely and rushing to the end…not the best idea, heh).
    I know you can do it! Sending ‘break-thru-that-middle’ vibes your way, Tracy!!

    • The thing is, it’s not quite the middle. It’s just a ways past the quarter mark but it already feels sloggy like the middle. But I do feel better having written some more so maybe this momentum will carry me through.

  4. What mile is that? Knees aching? Sweat clouding your vision? Come on, we already know you have more stamina than the rest of us. Team Vinca T-shirts on! You’re getting there even if it doesn’t feel so good right now.
    (Me I’m cheering from this sidelines. Too overwhelmed to get much done the last couple of days. But sent out three queries to alleviate the guilt. Back to chapter two next week. It’s painful even before the middle sometimes).
