Waiting for feedback on revisions of funny boy book.
Feeling good about the changes that make it a stronger book.
Rather than obsessively peeking at that ms again
I read my second middle grade. Again.
Decided I love that book too much to let it die.
Hear that, universe?
Close to Home deserves a publishing home
and I’m not giving up on it.
I have no idea what any of this means except that
it feels good to have positive feelings about one’s writing.
Now and again.
Because I know all too well how that pendulum swings the other way.
But as of this moment, the pendulum and I are on the upswing.
Upswings are darn good!

I’m picturing you and your manuscript on a flying trapeze. You’re soaring higher and higher, effortlessly and joyfully. Your face is radiant with happiness and reflected sunlight.
I’m smiling at the thought of you, my friend, on the Upswing. May the winds continue to carry you in the right direction.

Ooh, I liked this despite the fact I’m terrified of heights. I’m going to look up and not down.
I’m glad you’re finding your footing again, too. We’re both headed in the right direction now.
