I was positive 2010 would be my year.
It was the Year of the Tiger,
and because I was born in the Year of the Tiger,
I was convinced ferociously good stuff was headed my way.
It is to laugh.
Today marks the beginning of the Year of the Rabbit.
I have no expectations for 2011.

Rabbits are nice enough.
Huge floppy ears.
Big-ass feet.
Fluffy little tails.
Whatever.

Don’t cry, Bunny!
I actually love rabbits very much and am thrilled whenever I see them as I run the trails. I’m just saying I’m not falling into the tiger-trap again.
Rabbits are rabbits, and that is good.

Right on. The Year of the Tiger wasn’t so hot for Tigers. But Chinese astrology doesn’t have much going for it. Did everyone in your class, all born in the same year, have similar personalities? I suspect not.
And according to Chinese astrology, M and I are supposed to be incompatible. I think not!

You are correct, Wise Owl.
I will love rabbits for what they are, and nothing more.

Yes, absolutely! We’re going places, that’s for certain. But New Year’s is a good time to remind ourselves that it’s more about the journey than the destination.

Indeed.
And wouldn’t that be a great name for a band? “Ladies and gentlemen, I’m thrilled to present The Wise Bunnies!”

2010 was not so hot for me. But that makes me think that 2011 has to be better. At least I hope so. I’m definitely going to do my best to increase the odds. Bring it on, rabbits.

Ooh, good attitude. We’re headed in the upward direction, and we’ll take all the rabbit assistance available. Good thing I like carrots.
