Yesterday morning Zippy went to the basement to feed Lebowski the cat, and found this:
Wildebeest and friends (all 17 years-old) came home on Friday night and built a fort to sleep in.
It all began with one sheet and a piece of yarn.
This makes me smile.
My kids do that — nice to know they might not outgrow it for a while 🙂

Yep, your kids could be building forts for a long, long time. 🙂

Your cat’s name is Lebowski? Is that a Coen brothers reference?

Most definitely a Coen brothers reference. Our cat is The Dude (minus the bathrobe and jellies).

It was a very cool fort. They were watching a movie in there when I went down later. And then they played Dungeons and Dragons (something Wildebeest hasn’t done in years and years). It was a fun day for them, I think.

I agree. Something about teenage boys getting back to their basic joy…

It also makes me smile listening to Wildebeest explain how the fort came to be, with his friends expressing skepticism and then full-blown enthusiasm.
Maybe we should build some forts today….
