- Love’s In Need of Love Today – Stevie Wonder
- Bill – Talking Heads
- Nurds – The Roches
- Those Three Days – Lucinda Williams
- Lady of the Island – Crosby, Stills & Nash
Confession: I was tempted to alter the results so I wouldn’t look like as if I was completely stuck in the musical past. But these truly are the first five songs that came up out of a roster of 2,599. I swear. (This is Zebu’s old iPod and it still has some of his crappy modern country music on it so I guess I should be grateful none of those songs reared their ugly heads.)

And what’s wrong with “being stuck in the musical past”? No one today writes or performs like Stevie or the haunting harmonies of Crosby, Stills & Nash.
Nothing’s wrong with it, I guess. I just felt a bit fogey-ish when I saw the result of that shuffle. I think it’s good to broaden my musical horizons, but I also agree with you that Stevie and CSN (&Y) are gems.
I am stuck in the musical past, and I’m fine with that!
Glad to have you as a fellow member of The Musical Past, Jenn!
