Just popping in to wish everyone a good week!
It was sunny and warm here in this part of Colorado, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to get outside with a friend. We walked a somewhat muddy trail that passed through a small prairie dog town with some gregarious inhabitants.
*I truly thought today was Monday. Oops…
Today’s now Wednesday, so ‘Happy Monday’ and happy rest of the week, Tracy! 😀
That little prairie dog is adorable. 🙂

Wow! You can just take a walk and spot prairie dogs? That is something. We have mostly gray squirrels.

In certain places, yes. And it’s SO much fun! We don’t have gray squirrels here, so I consider you fortunate on that count.

I would love to see Prairie dogs in their native habitat! We have marmots if you hike up high enough they call out to you from the rocks.

Marmots are also wonderful. In fact, in the six years I lived in Alaska, a marmot encounter while hiking was one of the most memorable wildlife experiences. It was the angriest marmot in the world and sat in the middle of the trail, just cussing me out.

I love the image of this! I rarely get high enough up to see Mountain Pikas anymore, but they are adorable and make cute sounds, “meep.” Sometimes my husband and I “meep” at each other.
