Switching Gears

Last night I reached that point of delirium with my revisions.
You’re probably familiar with that point.
When your tweaking is possibly doing more damage than good?

So I said, "¡Bastante!"
and sent the ms off to Claudia (and another reader friend).
Then I cracked open a beer.

But today’s a whole new day, and without those revisions to shape my day I feel, well, shapeless.
What shall I do?!

I know!  I’ll dig out the file for BIRD BRAIN and reacquaint myself with that story.

That creaking sound you hear?
Just my brain switching gears.

  1. I’m starting to feel like writing is burbling in my brain…hopefully it’ll break free right as I finish up work at the end of the month 🙂 Good luck today!

    • Burbling is always good. I hope your timing works out just right and that you can hit the page running. 🙂

Yesterday I organized drafts and such from the ms I’m finishing up, and then went in search of new project. It was daunting; my brain just isn’t in that space yet.

  2. switching gears is hard. but i have faith you can do it. you will find something splendid to do and rejoice in the fact that you had the time to do it. 🙂

    • Switching gears is very hard. I didn’t make any headway yesterday but was very relieved to see I’d left notes for myself when I closed the file back in January. Hooray for thinking ahead!
