I’m ready to wade back in there
and begin reshaping BIRD BRAIN’s opening chapters.
And then complete another (final?) round of revisions.
I’m equal parts anticipation and dread.

Cue whatever music it is I need to hear right now . . .
I don’t know if this is what *you* need to hear right now, but I’m listening to this:
(I’m planning to write a related post…probably tomorrow.)

Perfect! I didn’t get it at first but then when he started singing, it all came flooding back.
Thank you for keeping my rear in gear!

Look, I’m on draft 6 on DC. And I know there will be a draft 7. (Draft 6 is getting some serious plot overhaul work.) We can do it. We can sheer each other on. Stay the course. Pick each other up. Share cake…woe! I didn’t mean that last one. I don’t SHARE cake with anyone. Sorry. You can ger your own cake and I can get my own cake and celebrate getting one draft closer to a better story.

This made me laugh! And smile!
I’m definitely here cheering you on in your revisions, Tracy. Mine says BIRD BRAIN4 but there have been some 2A and 3A and 3Bs in there. I’ve lost count.
We will prevail! And there will be cake for all!

It’s so cool how everyone came up with something unique. You, my friend, offered the only symphony.

*sings* “Everyone knows an ant . . . can’t . . . move a rubber tree plant”
I’m pretty sure that song is not helpful. Sorry.

That song was very helpful, Kelly. Because it made me smile. And smiling loosens tight muscles. And relaxed muscles make for relaxed writing.
See how that works?

Do didja wade in? Huh, HUH?
I can’t listen to music when I’m writing, but how about the Chumbawumba song, I Get Knocked Down (But I Get Up Again)?

I DID wade in. And I was happy with what I accomplished!
I don’t listen to music when I’m writing, either. But I appreciated all the song suggestions to get me revved up. This is a great song! I’d never heard it because I’m not all that hip. (really. I know).

Oh, dear! My brain has been so taken over by nursery rhymes and camp songs that the only refrain running through my brain is, “The ants go marching one by one, hurrah, hurrah!”
MUST get me some better music. But I wish you luck regardless!

I remember those days, Amy. I still break out into Ladybug’s Picnic and such. The ants go marching is a fine tune. Got me into step….
Thank you! And wishing you luck, also.
