Gratitude on a Monday

Today I’m grateful for my wavy hair that hides scissors-related mistakes. I haven’t had a professional haircut in over a year and just cut my own for the third time during this no-end-in-sight pandemic. Does it look like a pro cut? Nope. Do I care? Not at all. Do I feel better now? Absolutely!

Tracy post-cut. February 8, 2021

Here’s a photo taken with my Android phone camera (that takes incredibly low-quality selfies). Looking at it, I already see some too-long strands here and there. Not to mention I appear slightly cross-eyed. šŸ˜‚

Whatever. I’m relieved to have less hair to deal with and am now ready to face the coming week.

eta: adding this other photo because it shows more egregious hair errors!:

  1. I think your hair looks super, and that’s a great picture too. Other than the part I guess we’d call bangs, which I trim, I haven’t had a cut since the end of February last year. I’ve thought about taking the scissors to it, but then I chicken out. I’m sure I wouldn’t do as well as you. Out of desperation, I’ve taken to setting it with bobbie pins to give it some wave. You did a great job.

    • You’re very kind. šŸ™‚ If I didn’t have wave, I wouldn’t even try it so I don’t blame you for hesitating to cut your own beyond the bangs. Pins and clips work wonders for getting some wave!

  2. Looks great, Tracy! I trim my bangs and just put my long hair in a low ponytail. I have no idea what it looks like in the back and don’t want to know. I miss my pedicurist even more than my hairdresser.

  3. It looks great!
I haven’t had my hair cut in about a year now, and I haven’t dared cut it myself. I’m turning into Pandemic Rapunzel, but oh well. I live in sweatpants now too.
